Welcome Message from the host university
Dr Kaviraj Sharma Sukon

A warm welcome to everyone! Join us to examine several complex issues arising in our e-World from the perspective of multiple disciplines. This inaugural conference, organised jointly by the Open University of Mauritius (OU) and University of Kwala Zulu Natal (UKZN), will focus on emerging trends in the topical areas of Management, Information Technology and Governance, while unveiling best practices that can guide the rules of the game for effective economic development in an e-World.

The aim of this conference is to move beyond teaming and simple collaboration among researchers to the integration of methodologies, concepts and data to solve real world problems. It also aims at providing opportunities for academics from a range of disciplines and countries to share their research. It will also provide opportunities for researchers and academics to receive in-depth feedback through discussions.Beyond the immediate conference premises, Mauritius offers the charming white sandy beaches and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.
Moreover, due to its endeavour to offer better services and products, Mauritius is ranked first in Africa by the World Bank Doing Business 2017, Global Competitiveness Index 2016 – 2017, Mo Ibrahim Index of African Governance 2016, United Nations e-Government Survey 2016, Human Development Index 2015, Mercer’s 2016 Quality of Living Survey, and Knowledge Economy Index 2012
As Co-Chair of the conference, and the Director-General of the Open University of Mauritius (the first and only ISO-Certified public university of Mauritius), I would like to assure all participants that there would be no better place than the dream island of Mauritius to share their latest scholarly works. We are expecting academics and researchers from all five continents to tread the land of Mauritius and see through the doors of the conference long lasting collaboration and enriching exchanges taking place among them. The Mauritian warm hospitality will blend the high academic flavour of the conference and offer presenters a comfortable platform for academic discussions and furtherance.
Let the syntheses of minds and ideas be the fruit of our meeting and let us unite for the betterment of this world through the universality of our education
