Message from Conference Chair

Dr Albert van Jaarsveld

As co-hosts of the Global Trends In Management, IT and Governance in an E-World (E-MIG 2017) International Conference to take place at the Intercontinental Resort, in the North of Mauritius on November 8 to10, the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and the Open University of Mauritius (OU) looks forward to welcoming all conference participants to this exceptional tropical event. The objective is to use this platform to share ideas and expertise on emerging global trends shaping the e-World.

With technology increasingly becoming the gateway to the world for many, this multidisciplinary conference will see academics, post-graduate students, researchers, IT practitioners, industry delegates and Ministry officials from South Africa, Estonia, Mauritius, India, China, France, Botswana, Namibia and Nigeria display their work and share their collective expertise and experiences on IT, Governance and Management matters. This conference will also highlight how IT supports a growing digital economy in support of effective and efficient Management and Governance, and how these developments are progressively shaping the emergent e-World.

Apart from two days of interaction - presentations, discussions and networking, we will also host the Conference Gala Dinner on 9 November. This promises to be a fun filled evening involving tantalizing cuisine and rhythmic music.

As Mauritius is widely known for its beautiful white sandy beaches and water sports, we encourage you to take advantage of its tropical climate and leisure activities.

On behalf of the Organizing Team, I am pleased to welcome you to and encourage you to be a part of this unique learning, sharing and networking experience and look forward to hosting you at the inaugural E-MIG 2017 Conference.
